Privacy Policy

LoopPool never asks for your name, email address, phone number, or a password. When you first open the app it creates an anonymous account: a random identifier tied to your installation of the app. That identifier lets your votes count once, lets your comments show under the username you chose, and lets you delete everything later. It is not linked to your identity, and we have no way to connect it to you.

Reinstalling the app or switching phones creates a new anonymous account; the old one keeps its data until you delete it (see section 8).

• Username — the display name you choose. It appears on your comments and is visible to other players.
• Age bracket, gender, region, and country — chosen from short lists during setup. These power the "who agreed with you" breakdowns. You can choose "prefer not to say" for gender; region and country are the ones you select, not detected.
• Comments and your up/down votes on other players' comments.
• Reports you file about a comment, and the reason.
• Dilemma submissions — the title, scenario, and two sides you write. Don't include real names or identifying details.

• Votes and predictions — for each dilemma: which side you picked, your prediction, the date, and whether it was the day's dilemma or an archive play.
• Push notification token — if you turn on reply and upvote alerts, the app stores the device token that lets notifications reach your phone. Turning the setting off clears it.

Scores, streaks, accuracy history, unlocks, and your notification preferences are kept on your device only and are not sent to our servers.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, or your device's advertising identifier ourselves (see section 6 for what our advertising partner collects).

• Counting the room. Votes are aggregated into the percentages you see on the reveal, overall and by age bracket, gender, and region. Individual votes are never shown to anyone, and a demographic slice with fewer than 5 votes is hidden entirely so small groups can't be picked apart.
• Discussion threads. Comments are shown to every player who has voted on that dilemma, with your username and which side you took.
• Notifications. If you opt in, we send a push notification when someone replies to your comment or when it reaches an upvote milestone. The daily "today's dilemma is up" reminder is scheduled on your phone itself and does not involve our servers.
• Moderation. Reports and comments are reviewed by us so we can hide abusive content and, if necessary, restrict an account. Players can also block another player, which is applied only on the blocking player's device.
• Submissions. We read submitted dilemmas and may feature them, rewritten, in the daily rotation.

We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or build profiles from it.

• Your username, your comments, and which side you took on a dilemma you commented on.
• Aggregate percentages that include your vote, never the vote itself.

Nobody, including us, can see your age bracket, gender, or region attached to your username; those only ever appear inside aggregate counts.

LoopPool shows optional rewarded video ads through Google AdMob. You choose when to watch an ad (for example, to unlock a full breakdown or repair a streak); we never show ads without your tapping to start one.

When an ad is requested, Google may collect:

• Device identifiers (the iOS Identifier for Advertisers, if you allow tracking, or the Android Advertising ID)
• IP address and coarse location derived from it
• Device type, operating system, and app version
• Ad interaction data (impressions, views, completions)

How Google uses this data is described in Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and in "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites). None of the information in sections 2 and 3 is shared with Google.

We use a small number of providers to run the app. Each processes data only on our instructions:

• Supabase, Inc. — hosts our database and the anonymous accounts, on servers in the United States.
• Expo (650 Industries, Inc.) — relays push notifications to Apple and Google, and delivers app updates.
• Google (AdMob) — advertising, as described in section 6.
• Formspree — in builds that run without our database, dilemma submissions are relayed to our review inbox through this form service instead.

Your server-side data (sections 2 and 3) is kept until you delete it. To delete it, open Settings → Delete my data inside the app. This removes your anonymous account and everything attached to it — votes, comments, comment votes, reports, submissions, and push token — immediately and permanently. Aggregate percentages are recomputed without your votes.

Deleting the app from your phone removes everything stored on the device but does not by itself delete server-side data, because we have no way to know the app was deleted. Use Delete my data first, or email us at contact@pistonmaps.com with the request; because accounts are anonymous, we may ask you for details only you would know (such as your username and recent comments) to locate the right account.

Comments you delete yourself are hidden from other players immediately. Data collected by Google is retained under Google's policies.

Notifications. Both kinds of notification are off until you turn them on, and can be turned off at any time in the app's Settings screen or in your phone's notification settings.

iOS — App Tracking Transparency. On first launch LoopPool asks whether you allow tracking. If you decline, ads are still shown but are not personalized using your device's advertising identifier. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Android. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID, and opt out of ads personalization, in Settings → Google → Ads.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Where required, LoopPool presents a consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) before any ad is requested. You can decline personalized advertising there and change your choice later from within the app's consent options. Because we hold no identifying information, the rights of access, correction, portability, and erasure are best exercised through the in-app data deletion above; you can also contact us.

California. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA/CPRA.

LoopPool is intended for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, contact us and we will delete the associated account.

Data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections. Our database is configured so that each anonymous account can read and write only its own records; other players and the app itself receive only aggregates and the comments intended to be public. No system is perfectly secure, and the anonymous design means that even in the event of a breach, the records could not be tied to your identity by us.

Our servers are in the United States. If you use LoopPool from elsewhere, your information is processed there.

When we change how the app handles information we will update this policy and the effective date above before the change goes live, and note it in the app where appropriate.
